Our history
Holidays on the Hill was officially established in June 2023, evolving from our earlier initiative, Holidays on Salmon Falls. This journey began with our special needs son’s excitement and joy in seeing Halloween and Christmas decorations displayed outside our home. One chilly winter night in 2022, the Grinch knocked on our door, and he has since become a beloved part of our holiday traditions, joining us every festive season. What started as a family tradition has grown into a community effort. We began hosting food drives for Thanksgiving and Christmas, with Mr. Grinch spreading holiday cheer by handing out toys and prizes to those who stopped by with canned goods. Over time, our mission expanded to include supporting individuals and families in need by providing holiday meals. In 2024, we launched a toy drive and an adopt a family event that some amazing community members stepped up to ensure that families in our community could experience the magic of Christmas, even in challenging times. This passion for giving back led us to become a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the holidays brighter for everyone. We are proud to partner with the Postal Center and look forward to continuing our mission to spread joy and kindness during the holiday season. Our mission at Holidays on the Hill is to uplift low-income families, including those with special needs, by providing meals, gifts, and assistance during special occasions like Christmas, Easter, birthdays, and more. We aim to strengthen community bonds through local events that unite families, celebrate shared traditions, and create unforgettable memories.
Additionally, we are committed to honoring our veterans, ensuring they receive the recognition and appreciation they truly deserve. We are also dedicated to supporting special needs families by fostering an inclusive environment where everyone is celebrated.
